Session Type: Quick Talk
When: Wednesday, November 18th 2020 @ 3pm – 4pm
Abstract: The idea of a librarian being “embedded” within a classroom or learning environment has transformed the relationship between libraries, university students and academics in recent years. In 2020, at Charles Sturt University Study Centres, online learning has enabled us to break down the barrier between the library and the classroom further again. In the year of COVID-19, our library was able to visit more classrooms, virtually, than ever before. In rethinking the way we work, we have also found new ways to collaborate more strongly with Study Support Services staff. This has enabled us to form seamless teams in a way that would have been difficult to achieve had we stayed in our normal physical environments.
Our presentation highlights and documents the ways that distance has served to bring us closer together, and embed deeper, within our virtual academic environment.
