Abstract: Assessment design in Molecular Pathology Sarah Milograna (SDMS), Wouter Kalle (DLT), Noelia Roman (DSS), Martin Pal (SDMS) Historically students studying Molecular Pathology have had issues with ‘feeling unprepared for the complexity of the content’, and ‘struggling with the amount of information’ delivered within the subject. During a scheduled course review of the Bachelor of Medical Science (Pathology), the chosen ‘Micro session Model’ required us to separate the practical component from the theory and re-design the assessment across the theory and practical subject with stringent scaffolding and alignment between them. This allowed for the development of new innovative assessments across the subjects that would require students to present on practical aspects within industry then in the subsequent subject critique the theoretical background of their own work. This style of assessment allows for structured concise scaffolding allowing for feedforward style feedback. This continuous assessment style ensures assessments are not only authentic and engaging, but also aims to support academic integrity.
